Volunteer Opportunities with Habitat for Humanity of Idaho

HfH of Idaho volunteer opportunities exist in two main areas.  One is by serving on a committee and the other is by serving as a board member.

Committees

The President appoints committee members after he/she consults with the committee chairperson.  Therefore, to serve on a committee you must contact either the HfH of Idaho President or the chair of the committee you wish to serve on.  The committees that accept members in this manner are the Resource Development Committee, the Finance Committee and Public Relations Communication Committee.  To get a feel of what these committees are now doing and who the chair people are go to Committees.

Board of Directors

Affiliate board members are selected by the local affiliates.  Usually they are members of the local board or have had past Habitat experience as a board member.  However, local boards can select anyone they please to represent them.  If you would like to serve as a HFH of Idaho affiliate representative, find your local affiliate address under Idaho Affiliates and contact them.

The existing board members select at-large board members.  If you can contribute as a board member by providing representation for appropriate groups or possess some characteristic that would give the board desirable diversity, we need you.  For example, we need minority group representatives, a pro bono lawyer, state government involved people, folks representing different housing organizations, etc.  To asked to be voted in as an at-large member contact this office or contact someone on the Nomination Committee.  Nominating members are listed under Board of Directors List.
